PlayStation has put together a fantastic initiative titled ‘Play at Home.’ The first part is aimed at helping keep gamers entertained while they do the right thing and stay at game, while the second is in supporting its own studios and those smaller ones.

Firstly, you’ll be getting free games. The Uncharted Collection (which includes Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception ) and Journey will be free from April 16th at 9 AM AEST until May 6th at 9 AM AEST. As long as you redeem both these games during that period of time, they’re yours to keep forever.

Will PlayStation add more games for free in the future as well? It sounds like they might, but there’s four game’s to keep you well entertained for a while if you haven’t played them before.

In an effort to help affect indie developers, whom Sony considers a vital part of the industry they’ve put together a $10 million fund in support of indie devs.

Participation criteria and more information will apparently be made available soon from Sony for those seeking answers on the fund.

Sony has also recently put together a  $100 million fund to support those in need and on the front lines fighting of the COVID-19 epidemic.

“Sony extends its condolences to the families of those who have passed away as a result of the COVID-19 crisis, and extends its sympathies to all those who have been impacted”

Said  Kenichiro Yoshida, President and CEO of Sony Corporation in a press release discussing the fun.

“In order to overcome the unprecedented challenges that as a society we now face around the world, we will do all we can as a global company to support the individuals on the frontlines of the battle against COVID-19, the children who are our future, and those who have been impacted in the creative community.”

So play some games, be good to one another and wash your hands.
