Thunderful hosted the ‘SteamWorld Telegraph: Special Broadcast’ this morning and revealed SteamWolrd Build, the next game in the SteamWorld Universe. The best news is that there is a demo available on Steam for players to check out right now.
The Station develops this new city-builder genre take on the SteamWorld Universe. You will be working to not only build a town with a growing population, but you’ll also be building underground as you explore the mines in search of potential treasure and resources you can use to build your town.
Check out the reveal trailer below.
Adam Vassee, producer at The Station, said:
“Having the opportunity to work on an award-winning franchise that’s loved by fans was a real honour for us. We’ve put a lot of effort into making sure the game retains the charming character of previous entries, but we’re also lucky in that the SteamWorld series is all about trying new things. That’s been liberating in allowing us to put our own twist on SteamWorld and the city builder genre to craft an intuitive Anno meets Dungeon Keeper style system that we think is unlike anything else out there.”
Thanks to the game being developed in tandem with the console and PC in mind, the UI and everything have worked to accommodate controller and keyboard/mouse players.
What do you think about the SteamWorld Universe taking a swing at the city-builder genre? Let me know in the comment section below if you’re going to be playing SteamWorld Build when it releases on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch later in 2023?
