Respawn Entertainment has announced the ‘System Override Collection Event’ for Apex Legends. It’ll take place from March 3rd to 17th, feature news skins, a limited time new mode and the testing of a new piece of armour.
‘Déjà Loot Mode’ will see the dropship path and item locations stay the same every match. Which means teams will be fighting for hot loot zones knowing exactly where all the gold gear is every game. Communication and coordination will be a must. The rings movement and location will change daily throughout the event, however.
For week one of the event, ‘Déjà Loot Mode’ will take place on Worlds End before moving to King’s Canyon for the following week.

During this limited-time mode, you’ll be able to find the ‘Evo Shield’ in the wild, a brand new shield for the game that will evolve as you deal damage. When it reaches its final form it’ll be the most powerful shield in the game at a red colour and protect you from more damage than the purple/gold shield currently does.
Respawn isn’t sure if this shield will make its way into the main game just yet, so consider this limited mode a live test.
As was introduced with the ‘Grand Soiree Arcade Event’, there will be 24 prizes to unlock for this limited mode including a themed legend and weapon skins. The big one is an Octane Heirloom (I really want this one) which you’ll unlock if you unlock all 24 event items.
If you don’t manage to do that, Respawn also announced they’re changing how you unlock Heirlooms going forward and it’s a much better system.
On the Apex lore side of things, many eagle-eyed fans quickly spotted that all the darker letter in the item image spells out “Don’t Believe Hammond” so the tease for what will presumably be season 4’s big finale continues around whatever Hammond Robotics is up too.
Let us know if you’re keen on this event in the comments below.
