The Birdwatcher’s Journal Announced By Australian Indie Studio Noble Steed Games

Sydney-based indie developer Noble Steed Games has announced The Birdwatcher’s Journal, a new birdwatching puzzle game that combines photographing wildlife with uncovering the mystery of a missing researcher.

In this game, you arrive on a mysterious island to replace a missing researcher, then photograph and identify birds to piece together the puzzle behind the disappearance. You’ll also solve puzzles and explore the island’s ruins while you photograph.

The Birdwatcher’s Journal is Noble Steed Games’ first major game, and the small Australian studio drew inspiration from its own birdwatching experiences. The project has also received funding through Screen Australia’s Games Production Fund.

A public demo is planned for later in 2026, though the studio hasn’t announced a full release date.
