Prime Video debuted The Consultant’s official trailer, which stars Christoph Waltz as the titular consultant hired to help improve an app-based gaming company. 

The series is based on the book by Bentley Little, and although the trailer may begin to look like Apple TV+’s series, Mythic Quest, things quickly take a much more sinister direction.

“When a new consultant, Regus Patoff (Christoph Waltz), is hired to improve the business at the app-based gaming company CompWare, employees experience new demands and challenges that put everything into question … including their lives.”

Knowing nothing about the book, I am intrigued to see how this series plays out as A LOT is going on in that trailer. Waltz looks to be doing some of his best work in years and falling into a twister and sinister role that has made him a household name. 

The Consultant also stars Nat Wolff as Craig, Brittany O’Grady and Elaine, and Aimee Carrero as Patti. The creator, showrunner and executive producer are Tony Basgallop, joined by executive producers Matt Shakman, Christoph Waltz, Steve Stark and Andrew Mittman.
