After a leak and a few teases 24 hours earlier, Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered overnight, and it’s preety much what you’d expect.
Virtuous developed this remasterer, which is available now on PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, and, of course, Xbox Series X|S, where it is part of the Xbox Game Pass. The game also includes the two expansions, Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isle. Virtuous, the team behind the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta, remade the game in Unreal Engine 5.
Check out the reveal trailer below, which showcases the updated look of the game in a big way.
From Bethesda Game Studios in partnership with the talented team at Virtuous, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered modernizes the 2006 Game of the Year with refined gameplay and all new stunning visuals running at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Rediscover Cyrodiil and journey through the rich world, where handcrafted details have been meticulously updated down to leveling systems, character creation, combat animations, in-game menus, and more.
As reported by PC Gamer, fans seemed to be clamouring for a ‘new’ Bethesda RPG to play. The game has surpassed 120,000 players on Steam, and it’s unclear how many have played it on Xbox or even PlayStation.
If you’re not playing the game on Xbox Game Pass, it’ll cost you $84.95 AUD for the base version, or you can purchase the Deluxe Edition for $99.95 AUD, which includes, believe it or not, horse armour.
