The Elder Scrolls Online has officially launched Season One: Return of the Thieves Guild. This is the start of a new seasonal content model that will deliver free updates for all players throughout the season, until October 21.

The big part of this update is that it marks the return of the Thieves Guild to ESO for the first time since 2016, and it’ll be picking up where their storyline left off. Everyone will be able to play this new story content, but if you’ve played the original storyline, you’ll get some additional dialogue options. If you do want to play the original Thieves Guild DLC, however, Bethesda has already confirmed that it is now free for all ESO players.

Another big change and addition as Season One kicks off is the addition of ‘Favors’ in the game, which acts as a form of daily quests/daily tasks for players to take on.

Later in this season, on July 29, there will be a storyline centred on Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness. On September 21, there will be the addition of a puzzle area called the ‘Nowhere Vault.’ Then everything will be wrapping up between September 30 and October 14 for this season with the ‘High Seas of Tamriel’ event, which will be adding naval combat and underwater exploration to ESO for the game’s first time.

All Season One content is available free to all The Elder Scrolls Online players across PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
