There Was Some Trailers & Announcements From Gearbox At E3 2021

Gearbox had some games; Randy didn’t do magic; it was a show.

Gearbox held an E3 conference/showcase this morning, but it was mostly an excuse for Randy Pitchford to showcase his new Hollywood friends on the set of the Borderlands movie.

The movie is about halfway done, but since they’re still filming and knowing how much post-production work the movie will need, I find this hard to believe.

Nothing was shown of the Borderlands movie itself. So please don’t go looking for a trailer or costume reveal you think I’ve forgotten to share.

Herer’s everything that was shown during the Gearbox showcase.

Homeworld 3

Gearbox announced that Homeworld 3 is in production, and then things moved on quickly to another trailer. However, throughout the stream, things kept coming back to Homeworld 3 with these short mini-dev interviews. It was bizarre. Anyway, Homeworld 3 is a game.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Not much new was here in Wonderlands, which is weird considering it is Gearbox’s best time to show off their brand new Borderlands game. The same trailer that debuted during the Summer Game Fest event was played before a short developer interview confirmed that the game would still be a looter-shooter, stand-alone, and set in a fantasy universe.

Tribes of Midgard

You can look forward to the release of Tribes of Midgard on July 27th, but weirdly the same trailer that was shown during Summer Game Fest was played here again, just with some developer talk underneath explaining the mechanics.

Godfall

In the continuing trend of weird announcements during this whole event: Godfall is now releasing on PS4.

Originally it was announced that Godfall couldn’t be developed for PS4. It was one of the rare PS5 exclusives at launch (although it was released on PC). There’s also a new expansion titled Fire & Darkness on the way and matching and cross-play.

That’s everything from the Gearbox event at E3 2021. If you’d like to watch the event in full, it’s below for your pleasure.
