French developer DigixArt has revealed its next game, following Road 96 and Road 96: Mile 0It’s titled Tides of Tomorrow and is once again built around players’ choices, allowing them to shape and interact with one another.

Tides of Tomorrow is set on ‘Elynd,’ an oceanic planet that is facing extinction from a disease, and players will have the mission to find a cure. You’ll have to travel to different towns that are floating on the sea, and interact with other types of people in those communities, and, of course, how you talk and deal with these people could affect your outcome in either a negative or positive way.

The team are pitching the asynchronous system in this game as one that couldcause waves. As you’ll be able to see the echoes of other players and have to deal with the consequences of their choices, how you decide to deal with what they do looks like it could also affect your game negatively or positively.

Kevin Bard, Producer at DigixArt:

“In Tides of Tomorrow, for the first time, your story changes based on the players you choose to follow. This innovative twist unlocks a whole new range of possibilities for storytelling and gameplay. Will you follow friends, streamers or total strangers?”

The game sounds intriguing, and, like Road 96, it’s exciting to see the developer building on this asynchronous multiplayer concept.

Tides of Tomorrow will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on February 24.
