August is getting the fight on with the launch of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, alongside the PlayStation Fighting Controller to go hand-in-hand with the game. There’s also fighting to be found in Gamrfreak’s new and interesting game Beast of Reincarnation, launching this month, and it has nothing to do with Pokémon — that’s for sure!
There are also some Australian games releasing this month I have to shine the light on, with Big Walk sure to be a big one, as it’s the next project from the team behind Untitled Goose Game, and then there’s Pro Jank Footy taking a comedic take on AFL and Box Knight which has you fighting your way through monsters in a corporerate office.
Here are all the major video games set to be released in August 2026, along with some smaller games we’re keeping an eye on and some exciting new tech and gear.
