Write For Explosion Network

About Us

The Explosion Network is a personality-driven website seeking freelance writers to share their knowledgeable, passionate ideas and critical opinions with our continually growing audience. We cover video games, tabletop games, movies, television shows, tech and gadgets, and our primary focus is pop culture.

Working With US

We are always on the lookout for new contributors and are keen to feature 100% exclusive content on Explosion Network.

If you’re interested in reviewing games, movies or TV shows for us, please get in touch with examples of your previous work (if any) and what types of media you would like to review. We are building a list of freelance writers we can offer review opportunities to in the future.

If you’re interested in pitching us a feature or article, we’re always open to hearing about them. However, please don’t email us the article directly, especially if you’re pitching it to multiple outlets. As written above, we only want original content. Your best practice is to email us your pitch with a brief description of what it’s about, as well as the target audience.

Please do not send us either a review or a feature without having already spoken to us.

If we accept your piece, your work will be appropriately credited, alongside anyone else who may have worked with you. You’ll be able to submit a small bio for your author profile and a social media link.

Explosion Network does not currently offer payment for writers. No one on the Explosion Network staff is paid at this stage.

If you are reviewing a game or product for us and we are providing you with the code or product, it will be yours to keep unless otherwise stated.

If you’d like to write for us either by reviewing games, movies, tv shows, gear & tech or crafting an original feature, please get in touch with us at writefor@explosionnetwork.com, including

  • , [games], [film], [tv] or [tech & gear] in your subject line.

Please do not send us unsolicited pitches, reviews or features.

We reserve the right to remove anything we publish and will expect any writers we publish to uphold the same ethics and community standards we’ve laid out.

    Writing Guidelines

All articles must be written in English.

We only accept 100% original articles and reviews and do not accept something that has or will be published elsewhere.

Your work must be yours and yours alone. We will not accept plagiarised work of any kind; this includes but is not limited to entire articles, a few words or phrases.

We will share your personal blog or social media in your author profile, but you may not include promotional material in your piece in an advertisement manner. If you’d like to advertise on Explosion Network, please get in touch with us here.

Please include high-quality pictures that you’d like to have in the article, and if you’d like them placed in a specific location, make sure to include that information for us as well.

    When Submitting Work To Us:

Once we have accepted your pitch, email us your work in a Google Doc file with any pictures (and sources, if applicable) attached. If we have any editorial notes, we’ll easily communicate this with you in the Google Doc file.

Please include your article or review title at the beginning of your Google Doc file.

If we have no comments or editorial questions about your article, it will be published as soon as possible, although we may not always provide you with an exact time or date. If we have notes on your submitted article, we’ll wait for your approval before moving forward with publishing the article.
