Xbox took a deeper dive into what they announced on Monday morning and revealed a few new announcements during Xbox Games Showcase Extended 2023.

Cyberpunk 2077 – Phantom Liberty

A new developer gameplay video showed off the ‘Black Market’ location in the Phantom Liberty Expansion, which is releasing on September 26th, 2023.

Johnny Silverhand himself, Keanu Reeves then joined Xbox’s Tina Amini in an interview to discuss the new locations in the Expansion and thoughts on new characters, Colonel Hansel and Solomon Reed. 

High On Life DLC – High On Knife

A very dark trailer plays out like a monster movie in the reveal trailer for High on Life’s upcoming DLC, aptly titled,d High on Knife. 

The Lamplighters League

This is a new pulp adventure set in the alt-1930s and features both real-time infiltration, turned-based combat, team management and more as you attempt to stop a cult trying to dominate the world. 

The Lamplighters League will release on October 3rd and on Xbox Game Pass/PC Game Pass.

Avowed

More information on Avowed was revealed in an interview with Game Director Carrie Patel. They confirmed that although this is in the same world as Pillars of Eternity, you don’t need to have played those games to enjoy this — for fans. However, there will be easter eggs, crossover characters and maybe more. 

At the start of the trailer, Kai is also confirmed to be the first companion introduced to players in the game. 

The game’s size was also discussed, and Avowed will be “interconnected worlds” that will be around the same size as The Outer Worlds. 

Avowed is releasing next year on Xbox and PC. It’ll also be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass/PC Game Pass.

The First Descendant

The upcoming third-person looter shooter received a new trailer, and a crossplay beta was announced for August 22nd, which will run for a week. 

Towerborne

The team at Stoic breakdown what their upcoming action-adventure Towerborne is all about. New gameplay showed how you’d be able to go from the home base, The Belfry, to the world map and then into combat, either by themself or in co-op, and couch co-op if they’d like to. 

Stoic also talked about the long-term plans for Towerborne, which is to bring the next content to the game for years to come.

Fallout 76 – Once in a Blue Moon

Fallout 76 is getting a new free update on June 20th, which adds two new public events, sounds and ‘Beast of Burden.’

Hi-Fi Rush

Tango Gameworks has revealed that Hi-Fi Rush is getting the ‘Arcade Challenge! Update!’ next month. This adds ‘BMP Rush!’ as well as ‘Power Up! Tower Up!’ as two new modes. There’s also new music, character customizations, and more, and it’s free for all who own the game on July 5th.

The Elders Scrolls Online: Necrom

Creative Director Rich Lambert and Art Director CJ Grebb broke down the new trailer for Shadow of Morrowind, the next chapter coming to The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom on June 20th.

Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia is coming to Xbox Series X|S in August. 

Exoprimal

A new mode called ‘Savage Gauntlent’ was showcased for Exoprimal. This mode is about clearing missions efficiently and removing the main mode’s PVP elements. Also, new ‘Alpha’ suit variants were revealed. 

As revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase, an Open Beta will begin this weekend from June 16th to June 18th. 

Exoprimal launches on July 14th for Xbox, PlayStation and PC. It’ll be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

ID@Xbox Developer Accelerator Program

A hyper reel showcased the 11 games that have come through the ID@Xbox Developer Accelerator Program so far. Note: not all of these have been released so far.

Despelote, Drag Her!, El Paso, Elsewhere, Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, Naiad, Spirit Swap: Lofi Beats to Match-3 To, Island of Winds, Sonzai, Psychroma, Botany Manor, and Slime Heroes.

Microsoft Flight Simulator – Dune Expansion

This segment was a mega-success for the cross fandom of Microsoft Flight Simulator and fans of the Dune movie. Jorg Neumann, head of the Microsoft Flight Simulator team, took host Parris Lilly to meet the production designer of the Dune movie franchise, Patrice Vermette, to have a look at the real Ornithopters that were created for the film. Neumann talks about how they designed it to work in the game, which players can experience on November 3rd, the same day that Dune: Part Two is in theatres worldwide.

Go Mecha Ball

A trailer for Go Mecha Ball debuted, a new game from Whale Peak Games and publisher Super Rare Originals. In this action-roguelike, you can switch between a mech and a rolling ball form. 

Lies of P

In this gameplay showcase video, learn just how Souls-inspired Lies of P is, with different ways to play and customize your ‘P’ character.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II

The team at Ninja Theory go behind the scenes of their performance capture techniques in this new video.

Lightyear Frontier

Although these “real gameplay” videos can be corny as players talk to one another even though it’s very obvious it’s a script, the gameplay shown in this Lightyear Frontier video does an excellent job of explaining what each player can be doing to help the overall goal of building, farming and exploring.

Lightyear Frontier is releasing in 2023 on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It’ll also be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass/PC Game Pass.

ID@Xbox

A montage showed off a bunch of games, including Galacticare, Techtonica, Another Crab’s Treasure, The Wandering Village, Neon White, Harold Halibut, Mineko’s Night Market, The Bookwalker, Sea of Stars and Little Kitty, Big City, which are all coming to Xbox Game Pass at launch.

33 Immortals

If 33 Immortals was one of the standout intrigues from the Xbox Games Showcase, I’m sure you had questions as I did, and thankfully some of them are answered in this segment with Head of Xbox Phil Spencer joined by the team of Thunder Lotus to play the game. 

In the video, it’s explained that the game will play out across different books, and as seen when a map is pulled up on-screen, although it’s 33 players, you start on different sides of the map.

33 Immortals is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC. It’ll also be available on Xbox Game Pass/PC Game Pass on day one.
