Australian developer League of Geeks has announced a new rogue-lite colony sim game that’s inspired by the beloved sci-fi anime of the 70s. It’s titled Jumplight Odyssey and releasing into Steam Early Access in 2023.
The reveal trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, but it is an excellent taste-tester for the inspirations behind the style and visuals of the game. Check it out below.

As a colony sim, you’ll be keeping an eye on the crew, ensuring people do their jobs correctly and stay social with one another, and managing the chaos across multiple decks. This includes areas set up for battles or just relaxing.
Here are a couple of gameplay screenshots.
Trent Kusters, Co-Founder and Director of League of Geeks, said the following about the game:
“Jumplight Odyssey marries the aesthetic of iconic sci-fi anime with colony management sims and roguelite sensibilities to create a charming and challenging experience. Whether you’re interested in space opera melodrama between crew members, careful resource management, colony building systems, or “just one more run” action, Jumplight Odyssey has something for everyone, and we’re thrilled to recruit captains for our Early Access launch in 2023!”
