Nintendo has gone outside its regular plan and revealed who is developing one of its games ahead of its release. Possibly because it was obvious to anyone who was looking at the game, but they’ve confirmed that the team behind Donkey Kong Bananza is the same team that worked on Super Mario Odyssey.

This confirmation comes from Eurogamer, which has confirmed that, in turn, Nintendo has confirmed that Entertainment Planning & Development (EPD), the team behind the well-loved and overall critically acclaimed game, is the developer behind the upcoming Donkey Kong game.

Shocking. However, it might also add a little intrigue for anyone who didn’t bother to check out the Nintendo Direct and saw how much this looks like Donkey Kong’s version of Super Mario Odyssey.
