Sam Lake, the writer and creative director at Remedy Entertainment shared a road map for new content coming to Control through til the end of 2020 and I responded with a joke involving Alan Wake in reference to the second expansions name before I realised it’s not a joke, but very much true.

A brief context and spoiler warning follows for Control. If you wish to not know anything to do with what the title of this article suggests, stay back. But also if you have played Control and don’t understand the title: Alan Wake is ALL over Control.

Here’s a good write up from Stevivor on all the Alan Wake references:

My naive joke: the second expansion is titles AWE, so I responded on Twitter with “Alan Wake Expansion. AWE”. Haha, I’m so funny right? But it’s very true if you look at the expansions image closer.

That’s very obviously Alan Wake in the top there with his flashlight and the forrest setting around him is Bright Falls. Below you can see Jesse drifting upwards as if she’s travelling through a section of The Old House to get to Bright Falls.

Super exciting! This Alan Wake crossover and Remedy Universe that’s being created with Control and Alan Wake are why I’ve started a playthrough of Alan Wake of recent as well ,since I never actually finished it back in the day (sorry).
