At the ridiculous time of 3 AM AEST this morning, the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022 went down. Xbox promised that everything in the showcase would be released within the next 12 months and this led to some things being missed from the showcase like Hellblade 2, but we did see Redfall, Starfield, Scorn, Forza and more.
All the trailers and news from the event are below for you to check out.
Vampires, cultists trying to become a vampire and a group of survivors are stuck on an island together. A hefty gameplay trailer showed off the vampire-slaying of the four survivors you can play either solo or with a group of friends. The combination of guns, powers and equipment looked hectic.
Xbox Game Pass members will get all champions unlocked on League of Legends and League of Legends: Wild Rift. Subscribers will also unlock all legends in Valorant, and on games Legends of Runeterra, foundations set will be unlocked; for Teamfight Tactics, little legends sets will be unlocked.
A new trailer was shown, which was nice, but getting a gameplay trailer afterwards showcased the sim aspects of the latest Forza title and the amount of detail going into the roads on the tracks to the car themselves.
Overwatch 2 is releasing on October 4th, and the PVP will be free to play. And we got a look at a brand new hero, which sounded like an Australian gladiator fighter named Junker Queen.
In a crossover that couldn’t have been predicted, it’s Forza x Hot Wheels in the first significant expansion for Forza Horizon 5, and it’s releasing on July 19.
I don’t quite understand how As Dusk Falls works, but it’s a narrative game where every decision you make seems like it matters. More interestingly, you can play with up to eight other players, where it seems their choices would also affect the game. As Dusk Falls is releasing on July 19.
ObsidianGames is also releasing Grounded with all the updates and a complete story that the early access period has helped hone over the last couple of years.
Ereban: Shadow Legacy looked like a fast-paced stealth game, which is the opposite of what you’d usually get from that genre. No solid release date, but the game is releasing in 2023.
Blizzard revealed a necromancer class for Diablo IV alongside an extensive look at the game, including world bosses, end-game content and more. The game will be released in 2023.
You can now customise your cabin, name your ship (as long as there’s no profanity), and select a new path for your pirate to unlock new items. All of this news was shared in a song, which was pretty unique. All of this launches on July 27.
Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4: Golden and Persona 5: Royalare all coming to Xbox for the first time, and of course, they’re all on Xbox Game Pass. Persona 5 Royal will be the first to release on October 21, with the rest to follow.
In the first gameplay of Starfield ever showcased, Bethesda’s Todd Howard walked through the world, customisation and just how big Starfield is going to be upon release—kicking things off with the player arriving on the planet Kreet early in the game, shooting out with some pirates, before travelling to the Capital City, New Atlantis and speaking to some companions. We then looked at character customisation and how deep you can customise your ship, which is indeed flyable. There are also over 1000 planets to explore in Starfield, which sounds absolutely insane.
And with that journey to space and our first look at Starfield things wrapped up for the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase 2022. If you want to watch it in full, check out the video below.
