Here are all the trailers and news out of the Indie World Showcase.
Developer Glumberlands cuties and cosy farming and dancing-battle game, Ooblets is coming to Nintendo Switch later this Summer.
The game is coming to Nintendo Switch this Spring.
In my preview for the game based on the PC demo, I said:
“Batora: Lost Haven will remind you of Torchlight 3, but the gameplay mechanics are trying for something unique. They were the thing that stood out to be the most in the hour-long demo I played, with both a ‘hack and slack’ and ‘twin-stick shooter’ modes on display here.”
From a one-person developer, you play as a small battery like character that has to solve puzzles and platforms using its abilities. Coming to Nintendo Switch this Winter.
I played this game back at PAX in 2019 or 2018, and I’ve been keenly awaiting its release. Very keen to find out the rhythm action game will be RIGHT NOW and coming to Nintendo Switch.
A tactical rogue-like deck builder with a comedic edge from the developer Chucklefish and coming to Nintendo Switch this Summer.
It’s a wild-looking game with some comedic physics leading to the battles looking precisely like what toys look like when you wave them about having battles as kids. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch this Summer.
From Doinksoft, you fire off, block, dash and dive through side-scrolling combat with a gunbrella, which is upgradable. The music (at least in the trailer) sells the noire vibes, which I liked a lot. Gunbrella launches on Nintendo Switch next year.
I can’t wait for this game, and now it’s coming to more consoles with the announcement that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch when it releases this Winter.
A puzzle adventure in which you explore a surreal underwater world with many dangerous creatures and secrets to be discovered. You can also take control of sea creatures to solve puzzles and more. The game is launching on Nintendo Switch in June.
The very popular traffic controller, Mini Motorways, is releasing on Nintendo Switch RIGHT NOW.
Set in the 1970’s you play Casey as she explores a sky hospital as she interviews those working and staying at the hospital. Releasing on July 21st.
I wrote a preview for the game in 2020:
“Wayward Strand is point-and-click lite. You select what room you want Casey to enter or what section of the ship to enter as you would in your typical point-n-click adventure game, but there are no messy puzzles involving spam clicking everything in a room to find what you need.”
Cult of the Lamb is releasing on Nintendo Switch later this year. I can’t wait, and wish we’d have got a release date.
This souls-like—sorry, shells-like is everything a crab game fan should want. It looks action-heavy and has big boss battles and some platforming action. The game is releasing on Nintendo Switch next year.
Many games in this reel are coming to Nintendo Switch soon or next year. The highlight for me however is Card Shark, which is currently one of my most anticipated games of the year.
OneShot: World Machine Edition
Gibbon: Beyond the Trees
Idol Manager
Card Shark
Cursed to Golf
A Guidebook of Babel
OPUS: Echo of Starsong – Full Bloom Edition
