If you’re like me and you enjoy the story and lore of Apex Legends just as much as the game itself, Season 5 is going to be a treat.
On May 12th when Season 5 of Apex Legends begins there will be a massive map change, a new character and most interesting, quests.

Let’s start with the quests because it’s the most interesting update this season.
With the addition of the new champion, Loba comes a brand new story to be told. She hasn’t come to the Apex Games to play – she came to kill Revenant. However, she balls’d that up (as seen in the Season 5 trailer) and now is roaming King’s Canyon in search of something to continue her mission. What exactly that is is? We don’t know.
All season you’ll be in search of nine pieces of a mysterious artifact for Loba. To get these pieces you’ll need to play often throughout the season (although there’s a way to catch up for Apex coins.)
You can collect one treasure pack per day found randomly inside bins in any competitive mode (aka, not private server/solo/etc). They don’t take up space in your bag, you just instantly collect them.
In total there will be 45 of these to collect across the season. Each one containing a random assort of items like battle pass XP, crafting materials or Apex Packs. Or most importantly the unlock for the weekly night hunt.
Every week there will be a new PvE hunt for you to do solo, or with two other friends. Although it’s important to note that although you can invite friends, they won’t reap the benefits fully unless they’ve unlocked the hunt themselves from a treasure pack.
There will be a total of 9 hunts during Season 5. Each one will take place in King’s Canyon at night and have you facing off against Prowlers as you search for the next price of the artifact. Complete each hunt and you’ll unlock an exclusive weapon charm and new part of “The Broken Ghost” storyline.
The prologue of “The Broken Quest” will be available at launch for Season 5 in a new “Quest” tab in Apex Legends main menu.
Hunt number one will be available from May 19th and will be playable as soon as you’ve collected your fifth treasure pack.
As mentioned earlier you can buy treasure packs to catch up for 25 apex coins. But you can only catch-up to the current maximum. So you can’t buy all 45 and finish the story in one day. You also don’t have to play the night raids weekly, you can always catch up later in the season.
Of course, the other major thing coming in Season 5 is a map change. Skull Town is completely gone. A brand new area has been added. There’s a lot more, of course, to be discovered and you can try and sneak glances at what’s to come in the trailer below.
There’s been no mention of a new weapon for this season which is disappointing. There still might be a new hop-up or weapon attachment, but it’s to be determined.
Let me know if you’re as excited about Season 5 and Quests as I am in the comments below.
