JustWatch has revealed the most streamed movies and TV shows for October 2023.

What did you watch last month? What was your most streamed TV series? What movie did you discover for the first time? Let me know in the comment section below.

Movies

1.) Barbie

As it was last month, Barbie continues to sit on top of the streaming charts. Will it drop off in November? I doubt it, as the final has been a Purchase/Premium VOD these last couple of months, and it’s only just entered the normal rental period.

2.) No Hard Feelings

Making its way up the leaderboard in the last month, No Hard Feelings has moved from fourth to second, thanks, much like a few other films on this list, to it being added to a regular rental price of $5/6.99.

3.) Talk To Me

Talk to Me has held on strong and landed in third position for another month. It did come off Premium VOD and entered the normal rental period, plus it was October, which means more people are likely to want to watch horror movies, and this is a good horror movie. I wouldn’t be surprised to see it drop off the Top 10 list in November’s list.

4.) Totally Killer

And talking about Halloween and October boosting a film: everyone wanted some fun kills, it seems, and Totally Killer was a great light-hearted slasher for those who aren’t horror buffs.

5.) The Equalizer 3

They dropped a few positions in the rankings over the past month, but The Equalizer 3 continues to prove it’s a franchise that people care about.

Here’s the complete top ten list of movies from September 2023.

  1. Barbie
  2. No Hard Feelings
  3. Talk To Me
  4. Totally Killer
  5. The Equalizer 3
  6. Reptile
  7. Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One
  8. No One Will Save You
  9. The Super Mario Bros. Movie
  10. The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar

TV Shows

1.) Gen V

The spin-off to The Boys was released and went straight to the top of the rankings this past month, with fans of Prime Video’s series proving they’re happy to keep seeing this world expanded upon as long as the new characters and story is as interesting as what’s in the first season of Gen V.

2.) The Fall of the House of Usher

Although I’ve personally been savouring my time with The Fall of the House of Usher, I’m well aware I may be on my own with many others happy to binge it away and help it reach the status of one of October’s most-watched shows. It’s another win for Mike Flannagan and Netflix.

3.) Lessons in Chemistry

This new Apple TV+ series with Brie Larson in the lead role has been a surprise hit. This is something I’m sure Marvel is happy to see, with Larson about to star in their massive The Marvels in cinemas soon.

4.) Bodies

A new limited series crime thriller from Netflix has made its way into the top five this past month and took a lot of us by surprise. It’s based on a DC Vertigo graphic novel and follows detectives across several different periods, all trying to catch the same killer.

5.) Only Murders in the Building

The highly successful Disney series has returned for a third season, and unsurprisingly, it’s still very successful.

Here’s the complete top ten list of TV series from September 2023.

  1. Gen V
  2. The Fall of the House of Usher
  3. Lessons in Chemistry
  4. Bodies
  5. Only Murders in the Building
  6. The Continental: From the World of John Wick

  8. American Horror Story
  9. Our Flag Means Death
  10. The Bear
