Sony’s massive 60-minute Summer Game Fest-timed State of Play featured plenty of exciting news, reveals, and trailers.

It all started with a new gameplay section from Marvel’s Wolverine, and finished with an even longer look at a guy we hadn’t seen before, God of War: Laufey.

Here are all the trailers and news from the June 2026 State of Play.

Marvel’s Wolverine

The State of Play kicked off with a gameplay section that shows the level of violence the game will have, with Logan ripping enemies apart, throwing Trask containers around, and leaping off buildings.

Later in the gameplay, we see Jean Grey join the fight to help Wolverine. She’s using telekinetic powers to both take on enemies herself and do combo moves with Logan. It’s all very action-packed and leads into how the gameplay demo ends with Logan jumping onto a Harley-Davidson motorbike and then leaping onto a truck.

Marvel’s Wolverine is set to release on PlayStation 5 on September 15.

Until Dawn 2 is set to release in 2027.

God of War: Laufey

The rumoured next God of War game to star Kratos’ wife, Faye, turned out to be true as we see in this reveal trailer. It begins with the God of War reboot, then pans up to the sky as Faye’s spirit awakens in another realm. Faye doesn’t know where she is either, but soon enough, we find out that not everything in this new place is nice, as vine creatures begin to attack her, and we see the combat is going to be just as heavy and angry as the Kratos adventures. Faye has a sword and can use magic as well with her hand. She does manage to make at least one friend; some little critter seems to be following her and wanting to help her.

Throughout the long gameplay section, Faye is talking to herself about masks, and that seeing one was bad; if she finds another, it would mean “the path” isn’t open for Kratos and Atreus, and that she’ll have to find a way back.

Faye is eventually grabbed by two big creatures who, thanks to the subtitles, we can learn are speaking Mongolian. This certainly isn’t Norse mythology or Greek anymore. To make things more confusing, Sekhmet, an Egyptian god, comes and speaks to Faye before flying off to a massive telescope in the distance. This is the “afterlife of the gods.”

In the back-end of this gameplay deep-dive, we see even more cinematic combat with Faye getting access to a magical sword with a talking ribbon, and being joined by a talking cube and taking on the fire-haired villain that captured and taunted her earlier, with the combat taking to the skies.

There’s no release date or even a brief idea of a year, but that’s a lot of gameplay for a new reveal.
