Early this morning, PlayStation and Guerrilla Games gave us our first look at Horizon Forbidden West’s gameplay. It’s a beautiful look at what the game will look like on PS5; the key focus is on the gameplay itself, with some slight teases about what’s to come in the continuing story of Aloy.

The gameplay introduced us to a stunning San Francisco location. The jungle location where the demo starts is lush, but it’s as the demo transitioned to the beach and then underwater that the showcase of Horizon Forbidden West’s beauty was on the whole show.
Later in the demo, we see Aloy fight boy a handful of raiders which ended in her initiating some new powerful AOE super-attack. The demo ended with Aloy fighting off a massive mammoth-like creature that invoked attacking the weak points and choosing away at the creature’s armour as you did for the creatures in the first game.
As the gameplay comes to a close, Aloy rescues Erend, a returning character from the first game, and the two look at an incoming storm in the distance. It’s then briefly explained that a red blight destroys the world and kills everything in its path. Aloy’s mission in San Francisco is to find an old technology that’ll allow her to put a stop to the detestation.
