I was excited to get my Nintendo Switch 2, but I was less excited to take it outside without some protection installed. After getting Donkey Kong Bananza, I started travelling with my Switch 2 in a Steam Deck case, which was less than ideal. It wasn’t long after I received the Protective Case from JSAUX that I was much happier with the level of protection and travelability of my Switch 2. It has made my Switch 2 a constant companion whenever I leave home.

The Protective Case is made from a variety of materials and reminded me of the mod case I use on my Steam Deck. It feels at home on the Switch 2 and even makes the Joy-Cons feel better in my hand due to the added size and curvature. The Protective case is split into four parts: the rear case, the front case, and the left and right Joy-Cons. The case was easy to install and just as easy to remove. The case feels durable and keeps the Switch protected from all sides. The Joy-Cons attach and detach easily, and even if held from one, there was no sign of the Switch disconnecting and falling off.

This case has been put through various tests during the weeks I have had it, from travelling in my bag daily to the typical drops and bumps that come from daily use and travel. The other feature I like is that the front enclosure has recessed cutouts to place Switch and Switch two games. There are 10 places, meaning all the favourites are free to come with me on my adventures. The case is also only marginally bigger than the Switch 2, meaning that it doesn’t take up as much space or add additional weight.

The Protective Case comes in a simple box with the instructions and the four pieces needed for the Nintendo Switch 2. It took a short time to install, and I haven’t needed to remove and reinstall it, as it works perfectly with the Nintendo Switch 2 Dock. The Joy-Con covers also work with the Charge and Play accessory I have from JSAUX. The covers do have to be removed to dock the Joy-Cons with the official Switch Joy-Con holder.

The case is durable enough for daily use and travel, and I have yet to feel that my Switch 2 is in danger of breakage while in the case. The combination of this and the screen protector has me happy, and the additional cartridge bays mean I am never far from my favourite games.
