Kaldheim, a Viking inspired set inspired by Norse mythology in the latest expansion to MTG. The set also has strong metal themes with several of the cards from Kaldheim being revealed by metal bands including Sabaton, Amon Amarth, Rhapsody of Fire and even Australia’s own In Hearts Wake.
Check out the launch trailer for the set below which features the new Planeswalker Kaya battling a horde of monsters being controller by the half-devil-human Planeswalker, Tibalt.

Kaldheim introduces two brand new mechanics to MTG with ‘Boast’ and ‘Foretell.’
Boast activates when you attack and can give you extra incentives to attack early. For example, ‘Eradicator Valkyrie’ reads: Boast – (1)(Blk) Sacrifice a creature: Each opponent sacrifices a creature or planswalker.
Foretell allows you to exile a card and pay its Foretell cost instead of its usual casting cost at a later stage. For example, “Behold the Multiverse” which has a regular casting cost of (3)(Blu) reads: Foretell (1)(Blu) (During your turn, you may pay (2) and exile this card from your hand face down. Cast it on a later turn for its foretell cost).
Double-faced cards return this set and Snow cards in new and unique ways never seen in MTG before.
Kaldheim is available now in MTG Arena, with the physical cards set to release in-store on Friday, the 5th of February.
