Nintendo has teamed up with Velan Studios to create the next Mario Kart game. It’s very cool, although maybe not what you wanted.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is played using a Nintendo Switch and real-world, physical karts. Players are being asked to create their own courses with their imagination and race around their living rooms with the Nintendo Switch as their controller. Through magic and AR technology you’ll be able to look solely at your screen as you race with a little camera mounted to the top of the kart giving you a nice view of where you’re driving.
Check out this trailer. It brought a smile to my face. Imagine being a kid with stuff THIS cool around to nag your parent for!
Honestly, it sounds like this game would have been HUGE if it had of release at the start of the year.
There’s going to be two models of the game, a Mario or Luigi edition. Although if you’re planning to race friends, you’ll presumably need two. The suggest AUD RRP of which is $149.95, which is lower than I expect after watching the trailer, to be honest.
