It’s been six years since the release game in the OlliOlli franchise, but during this morning’s Nintendo Indie Direct developer Roll7 revealed the third game in the series, OlliOlli World.
All-up, the game looks like a massive change-up from the previous two. The art style is now much more vibrant and brings the series into a 2.5D scale. There’s also a story now — or something of one — as you’ll meet characters to interact with between popping kickflips and grinding your way through Radland.
“Radland, a vivid world full of colourful characters, as they search for the mystical skate gods on their quest for Gnarvana”
The previous games two games had quite a high difficulty curve. It seems this time around, Roll7 aims to make the games as accessible as possible while retaining the challenge for players seeking it.
Another change-up from the previous games is the publishing effort coming from Private Division, which will presumably see this latest entry get a much larger push than the previous self-published entries in the series.
OlliOlli World is releasing later this year on Nintendo Switch, PS4/PS5, PC and Xbox One, X|S.
