INTRODUCTION

Operation: Tango is a co-op puzzle game that relies on two players verbally communicating with one another. You cannot play this game in split-screen, and you wouldn’t be able to complete levels without being on a party chat of some sort.

As far as a trophy list goes, it’s nearly all straightforward. You’ll have to beat the game twice, once with each character, and then clean up a handful of miscellaneous trophies.

The game itself isn’t challenging per se, but how fast it takes you to beat each of the six missions will be highly dependant on your ability to solve problems and communicate with your partner. If you get stuck, there’s a hint system – I won’t be including guides for the missions in this trophy guide.

  • Trophy Difficulty: 1/10

  • Estimated Time To Platinum: 6-8 hours

  • The Number Of Missable Trophies: 0 are missable as there’s chapter selection, and you need to play the game twice (once with each character).

STEP 1: PLAY THROUGH THE GAME WITH EITHER THE HACKER OR AGENT

I suggest playing through the game with the same person for both your playthroughs. It’ll make learning the missions, puzzles, and communicate more efficiently and grab the platinum faster.

It doesn’t matter which character you play first; pick either The Hacker or The Agent and play through all six missions. You can be on the lookout for the mischievous trophies below, but they’re also swift to pick up later. In fact, I’d suggest just playing the game and enjoying it without overthinking about trophies in this step, as it’s quite an enjoyable co-op experience.

STEP 2: PLAY THROUGH THE GAME AGAIN WITH THE CHARACTER YOU HAVEN’T

When you’ve beaten the game once, go back to the main menu and switch characters with your partner and go through all six missions again. You don’t have to do them in order, but it’s what makes the most sense to do.

STEP 3: GRAB ANY OF THE MISCELLANEOUS TROPHIES YOU MAY HAVE MISSED

At this stage, you should only be missing six or fewer trophies, which are:

Check whichever you’re missing and clean them up before ultimately earning that Platinum trophy.

For Special Services.jpg

For Special Services (Gold)
Complete all missions as an agent

[Story Related] Earned for completing all six missions as the agent.

You can check who you’ve beaten a level with by selecting a mission on the map screen, but it’s my suggestion to stick with one character until you beat the game and then do the other, and not to switch between missions.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (Gold)
Complete all missions as a hacker

[Story Related] Earned for completing all six missions as the hacker.

See ‘For Special Services’ above for more information.

You Only Live Twice (Gold)
Complete all missions with both characters

You’ll earn this trophy once you’ve beaten all six missions with both characters. You can check who you’ve beaten a mission with by selecting it on the map screen. It doesn’t matter what order you play the missions in for your second character, but I suggest going from 1-6.

For Your Eyes Only (Silver)
Request a Hint

At any point, you’re free to open the pause menu and ask for a hint; your partner will have to agree to open one, however. There are no negatives to using hints either, as there’s no trophy for beating the game without them.

License to Kill (Silver)
Kill your partner as an agent

Towards the end of Mission 2, while playing as the Agent, you’ll be in a server room where you have to complete several puzzles. You’ll have to at one point walk over to a machine to complete the “Antivirus Quarantine Unit.” You’re able to press two buttons, either ‘“delete suspect element” or “restore element to network.” Press the delete option to earn this trophy.

Live and Let Die (Silver)
Kill your partner as a hacker

In Mission One, while playing as the Hacker, your first job is to activate the elevator for the Agent. Start the elevator, but as soon as the option to “call security” is selectable, do that, and you’ll get your partner killed.

The Spy Who Loved Me (Silver)
Use all emotes as an agent

At the very start of Mission One, while playing as the Agent, you’ll be inside an elevator. Look up at the roof, and you’ll find a security camera. Press square to bring up the emote wheel and go through all eight options to earn this trophy.

Check out the video below for more.

Icebreaker (Silver)
Send three messages to your partner as a hacker

You can earn this trophy in Mission One at the same time as Live and Let Die.

Once the elevator for the Agent reaches the top of the shaft, instead of opening the door for them straight away, you can send them messages by selecting the box below the “display a custom message to visitor” text. There are twelve different text options, so choose three different ones, and the trophy is yours.

From Montreal, with Love (Gold)
Find Clever Plays on the world map

While on the mission select screen, you and your partner must click where Montreal, Canada, is located on the map for this trophy to unlock. You don’t need to do it in tandem, but you’ll know one of you is in the right spot when their cursor sticks to the map, and there’s no mission to be selected in that location.
