Sony announces Horizon: Zero Dawn & Helldivers movies, plus a Ghost of Tsushima: Legends anime and The Last of Us: Season 2 release month

Sony announced a bunch of movie and TV news at CES 2025.

Sony’s CES 2025 Conference revealed more than just some new technology and ideas; it also showed the news on upcoming series and adaptations — The Last of Us: Season 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Helldivers II and Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.

Starting with The Last of Us: Season 2, we now have a rough idea of when the season will begin, with the latest trailer giving a soft ‘April 2025’ date.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is moving on from its failed TV series, which fell through, and is now shifting to a film instead. Not much was revealed about the upcoming project other than the fact that it’ll be an adaptation of the first game and will be made in partnership with Columbia Pictures.

A Ghost of Tsushima movie is already in pre-production with Chad Stahelski of John Wick fame in the director’s seat. Still, more is also coming, with an animated series being made in partnership with Aniplex and Takanobu Mizuno, who directed the fan-favourite episode ‘The Duel’ from the first season of Star Wars: Visions.
