However, also in amongst this announcement was the announcement of The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, an art book chronicling the game’s development, including concept art and creator commentary in a full-colour hardcover, due to release May 2, 2023. Considering it would be strange for an art book to be released before the game, this points to a March / April 2023 release date for Jedi Survivor. This date was backed up by known insider Jeff Grubb, who tweeted with the announcement of the books that the game is also expected in March along with the novel. 

Whilst not listed as a game to expect in the initial announcement of the first Disney & Marvel Games Showcase at the D23 Expo happening in September, this could mean we are looking at the release date and gameplay trailer at this event if the game is expected to be coming out in the first few months of 2023. 

Eagle-eyed watchers of the teaser trailer may have noticed that it looks like protagonist Kestis is sporting what looks to be a Blaster at his hip, something absent from his 2019 outing. It seems like this could also be a gameplay shake-up coming to Jedi Survivor, with Hasbro Toys taking pre-orders for a Cal toy, who clearly has a blaster at his side. The online description also has the below excerpt, clearly pointing toward some blaster-based gameplay for ol Cal.

“GAME-BASED CHARACTER-INSPIRED ACCESSORIES: This Star Wars The Vintage Collection action figure comes with 4 game-inspired accessories that make a great addition to any Star Wars collection.”
