Disney+ and Lucasfilm have revealed the full cast for The Acolyte.
The upcoming Disney+ original series, The Acolyte, will be set around 100 years before the events of the prequel trilogy during ‘The High Republic’ era. This period of Star Wars history has only been touched on in books and comics so far.
Alongside the previously announced Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give), who will star in the series is Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).
Here’s what the official Star Wars blog had to say about the upcoming series:
“The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.”
The show is from creator/showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) and has begun production in the U.K.
The Acolyte will stream on Disney+, presumably in 2023.
