This October Shudder and AMZ Networks’ are presenting a special animated episode of The Creepshow. It features two tales based on short stories from Stephen and Joe Hill and will feature the voice talents of Kiefer Sutherland and Joey King.
The first story is based on the Stephen King short “Survivor Type” which was published in the 1982 horror anthology Terrors. It’s being adapted by showrunner Greg Nicotero and stars Sutherland as a man stranded on a deserted island and determined to stay alive.
Nicotero said the following about the Halloween special.
“Halloween wouldn’t be complete without Creepshow, so with the help of the father and son team of Stephen & Joe as well as a fantastic animated format, we get to continue the tradition and spirit of Halloween”
“Twittering From The Circus of The Dead” is the second story and based on a short by Joe Hill which was originally published in the horror anthology The New Dead in 2010. It’s being adapted by Melanie Dale and stars Joey King as a teen who’s road trip ends up in the gravest show on earth.
The animation studio working on this special is Octopie who have previously created the dark and dire Pokemon short “The End of Pokemon” for Youtube (below.)
