The Game Expo team have announced the first wave of guests, who will be part of the convention over the March 14-15 weekend.
Japanese studio 17-Bit will be bringing three members of their team over to Australia to showcase their new game, AWAYSIS.
Jake Kazdal, CEO and Art Director at 17-BIT, said:
“The team at 17-BIT are excited to visit Australia for The Game Expo. We are looking forward to meeting fans and talking with fellow developers about our unique experience developing games in Japan. We are also excited to show our biggest slice of AWAYSIS yet on the show floor. We can’t wait to see people square off in our unique physics Dungeon Brawler”
Alongside Kazdal will be Ally Mobbs, the Audio Director, Sound Designer, Producer and Artist, as well as Steve Heller, an Aussie working in Japan, who serves as a Producer.
AWAYSIS is a physics-based dungeon brawler with 1-4 co-op player campaigns. The game also features music from Hip Tanaka, who has worked on Metroid and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
The Game Expo will take place at Melbourne Convention Centre on March 14-15, 2026. Tickets are available from www.thegameexpo.com
