This year Ubsifot Forward 2023 went back to an in-person event, which I must admit I missed in the memos. It was a well-put-together show with deep dives into games, on-stage presence, and release dates for anticipated games.

Here’s everything that was shown in Ubisoft Forward 2023.

Just Dance 2024

The new Just Dance game will arrive on October 24th and bring 40 new songs to move to. Just Dance 2023, and Just Dance 2024 catalogues can be displayed together in-game.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

The region you will explore in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the ‘Western Frontier,’ which has yet to be seen in the games. The player-character was a child Na’vi, abducted as a child by the human militaristic corporation known as the RDA. You’re hidden away sometime later, and fifteen years later, you find yourself free but a stranger in your own birthplace. Now, much like in the movies, you’re looking to protect Pandora from the human invaders.

For a simpler term: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora looks like ‘Far Cry: Avatar.’ As an open-world first-person game, you’re doing a lot of shooting and climbing, plus flying in the skies on your banshee.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on December 7th.

XDefiant

After many tests, XDefiant will finally launch later this Summer, but first, another Open Play Test is happening on June 21-23, with everyone being able to play the game.

The first year of content was also discussed, with plans for 12 new maps, 12 new weapons and new game modes.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

A new trailer and a developer gameplay video walked through classic and new elements of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

The story of The Lost Crown focuses on Sargon, a warrior who is searching for the kidnapped prince. All the classic side-scrolling elements of Prince of Persia games are here with platforming, fast-paced combat, and there’s a good injection of Metroidvania.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will release on January 18th for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix

A new anime is coming to Netflix later this year, which is a remix of Far Cry and other Ubisoft game stories inspired by the vibes of Far Cry: Blood Dragon

The Division Resurgence

The Division Resurgence will launch on iOS and Android devices later this year as a free-to-play mobile shooter.

For hardcore fans, The Division Resurgence is set in New York City after the events of the original The Division game.

Us Aussies get to be part of the upcoming test phase along with Chile, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Spain, and Sweden, which will be running from June 13th to June 24th.

Skull & Bones

There’s Still no release date for Skull & Bones, but a Closed Beta is happening on August 25th on PC, and the Skull & Bones segment of the show kicked off with an epic sea shanty.

The Crew Motorfest

Speed through the streets of Honolulu, down the side of a volcano and explore rich and colourful rainforests in The Crew Motorfest.

The Crew Motorfest features different campaigns centred on different types of cars in the game and their driving styles. These include American muscle cars, Japanese street racing and electric superstars.

The Crew Motorfest will launch on September 14th for PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Assasin’s Creed Nexus VR

Like all VR games, it is hard to showcase one in a show like this, but we did get information on Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, the first VR Assassin’s Creed game. In the game, you’ll be able to play three classic AC characters: Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Kassandra, and Connor (aka Ratonhnhaké:ton).

Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR is coming exclusively to Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 3.

Assassin’s Creed [Codename Jade]

Set between Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins, the first open-world Assassin’s Creed game for mobile devices will put players in the control of a character in China during the Qin dynasty.

Registration for the beta of Assassin’s Creed [Codename Jade] is open now

Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Set in 9th-century Baghdad, the game centres on Basim, a character seen in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, although, obviously, a lot younger here.

In Mirage, Basim is mentored by Hidden Ones Fuladh and Roshan, with this game emphasising stealth gameplay, looking and feeling like the classic AC games.

Star Wars Outlaws

Following the cinematic reveal trailer during yesterday’s Xbox Games Showcase, Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment debuted today’s first gameplay.

As the first open-world Star Wars game, a lot is riding on the gameplay reveal of Star Wars Outlaws. And the action in this first-look gameplay shows a lot with Kay Vess and her companion Nix stealing from the Pyke Syndicate before dealing with a broker working with someone from the Empire who raises Kay’s wanted level, leaving her on the run from the planet and in a dogfight before jumping to hyperspace.
