Riot Games has revealed that their upcoming trading card game, Riftbound, will release in English on October 31, 2025, in North America, EMEA, LATAM, and Oceania territories. The game is releasing in China today, so they’ve shared this news just ahead of more cards and details getting out into the wild.

There will be four different types of products available for purchase at launch. The typical starter and learn to play stuff, pre-constructed decks, booster packs (duh) and the option to buy a full booster box.

  • Origins: Proving Grounds – A starter, boxed set designed to play with 2-4 players featuring  Annie, Garen, Lux, and Master Yi decks, perfect to try out the game and learn its mechanics.
  • Origins: Champions Decks – Pre-constructed decks featuring Viktor, Jinx, and Lee Sin. These are ready-to-play and ready-to-tweak right out of the box.
  • Origins: Booster Packs – If you’re looking to power up your deck, these individual 14-card booster packs come with a variety of rarities. Spice up a Pre-Con deck or make your own deck from scratch.
  • Origins: Booster Box – 24 packs in a booster box. More cards is more good, right?

Collectors will want to know what the different types of card rarities are, and the chances of getting the ultra-rare cards.

  • Common Cards: Simple bronze frame, round rarity gem
  • Uncommon Cards: Silver frame, triangular rarity gem
  • Rare Cards: Gold, full-art Frame complete with foil pattern, square rarity gem
  • Epic Cards: Minimalist gold frame (to show off the art), foil treatment, and a pentagonal rarity gem

And each pack contains:

  • 7 Common card slots
  • 3 Uncommon card slots
  • 2 Rare (or better) card slots
  • 1 Foil card slot
  • 1 Token/Rune slot
  • And an informational insert

There will also be Riftbound accessories in store at launch, including card sleeves and playmates featuring champions Ahri, Jinx, Miss Fortune, and Volibear.

If you’d like to find out more about the basics of the game, reading through the ‘Deckbuilding Primer’ is a good idea on the Riftbound website. You’ll need a basic understanding of TCG games to get your head around it, however.

If you’re in a territory where the game isn’t launching in October, Riot have said they are “exploring additional regional rollouts, languages, and expanding Riftbound’s availability in APAC next year.”

As far as Australian pricing goes, EB Games has Boosters at $11, the Intro Decks at $44, the Origins Proving Grounds at $64, and a booster box at $264.
