Our friends at Player2.net.au are once again playing games for 24 hours on November 2nd to raise money for the Terry Campese Foundation.

“The main purpose of The Terry Campese Foundation (TCF) is to help the disadvantaged in the Queanbeyan region, including the country towns of Braidwood, Bungendore and Captain’s Flat. Working independently, and by also supporting individuals and organisations already working with young people experiencing disadvantage, TCF’s focus is on building on the strengths and opportunities for these disadvantaged people while providing tools to combat the situations they find themselves in.”
This will be the fourth charity event for Player 2, but things are a little bit different this year as Player 2 editor and founder Matt Hewson was welcomed onto the board of the Terry Campese Foundation in June of this year. Using his new position and a continued passion for the charity Hewson can now channel where his fund-raising is going directly and has chosen to target the area that makes the most sense for Player 2: video games.
The P2 Marathon this year will be looking to raise $4000 and use that to purchase 3 GAEM Vanguard portable game systems, 3 gaming consoles and accessories and 3 android tablets for Queanbeyan District and Braidwood Hospitals in NSW.
The seasoned charity work by Hewson and Player 2 over the previous two years raised $8314 for the foundation as they streamed video games for 24 hours on Twitch and attempted not to fall-asleep.
Helping attract your donations this year are some great prizes up for grabs which have been donated by the kind people at Xbox, Turn Left, Namco Bandai, 2K Australia, Koch Media, Ubisoft and more.
Donating $5 or more (every $5 is one entry) will get you an entry into the pool to win one of the prizes up for grabs. You’ll be able to find the full list of stuff up for grabs on the Player 2 website closer to the event.
