Just the other day I was complaining about the lack of State of Plays from Sony. Well, we now have one as this morning Sony stealth dropped a brand new look at Destruction AllStars.
The full video is below.
In the video, we look at the 16 heroes with unique abilities and backgrounds. You’ll be able to learn more about each of the heroes in single-player missions.
In the games four multiplayer modes where the heart of Destruction AllStars is, and you’ll be able to team up or play against friends.
Mayhem
Mayhem is your straight-up all-in destruction mode where the goal is simple: smash each other.
Carnado
In this team mode of 8v8, you earn ‘gears’ while wrecking opponents cars. You have to carry those gears to a Carnado in the centre of the map to bank your points. You’ll earn more the longer you stay out, but if you get smashed before banking your gears in the Carnado, you’ll lose them all.
Stockpile
Similar to Carnado you have to collect gears in this mode, but in a slightly different manner. You first need to smash an opponents car, but to collect the gears you need to jump out of your vehicle to collect them on the ground. To bank the gears you need to return them to one of three banks, which will earn you control of it.
Gridfall
The final mode looks the most inspired by a battle royale. In Gridfall sections of the map fall away until its the last player standing. You can wreck your opponents, or knock them off into destroyed areas of the map.
There are three vehicle types in the game: a speed vehicle for getting from a-to-b fastest, a nimble vehicle for making the tightest of manoeuvres, and a heavy vehicle class for taking the most damage.
A unique factor of Destruction AllStars is the ability to get out of your vehicle, but its more than just a second thought. Each of the champions unique abilities apply to when they’re out of their cars, and every hero in the game can move fluently around the map. This includes the ability to leap over obstacles, wall-running, and even fling yourself out of your vehicle as it’s about to be destroyed. If you can’t find a replacement car around the map, you can even leap onto an opponents car to take it over.
At the end of the video, Lucid Games Director Colin Berry promised that new modes, characters and customization items would be released throughout the year.
Destruction AllStars will be released on February 2nd. The game will be free for all current PlayStation Plus subscribers to download.
