Star Wars TV Series ‘The Mandalorian’ Directors & First Photo Release

Star Wars: The Mandalorian has entered production this week with Jon Favreau, the executive producer taking to Instagram to announce the shows name and also a cryptic synopsis.

The day following Favreau’s Instagram post, the Star Wars official blog released a post explaining some more about the show including who the producers and who some of the directors of the show are going to be. These included Dave Filoni, Deborah Chow, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard and Taika Waititi.

Dave Filoni, who will be directing the pilot is known for his work on The Clone Wars and most recently, Star Wars: Rebels. Deborah Chow has directed many episodes of big TV recently including Better Call Saul, The Man in The High Castle and Jessica Jones. Rick Famuyiwa is known for his 2015 film Dope. Actress Bryce Dallas Howard has been expanding into more directorial work in recent years with the 2013 TV movie, Call Me Crazy: A Five Film and several shorts. Taika Waititi is most known for his recent work on Thor: Ragnarok.

Most interestingly we got out first look at ‘The Mandalorian’, who is rumoured to be played by Pedro Pascal from Game of Thrones and Narcos.

The synopsis reads:
The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Of course, there are a million questions and more specific ones we can be asking now, but hopefully, we’ll find out more as production continues.

The Mandalorian will be coming to Disney’s streaming service sometime in 2019. Let us know what you think of the reveal information and phone in the comments below.
