We have an animated highlight in the September releases in cinemas, along with some other exciting films.
On the animation front, there’s Coyote VS ACME, which is finally being let out of the cinematic vault to hit cinemas, as well as Forgotten Island, the new film from DreamWorks Animation. And if you’re looking for something just a little bit less family-friendly, we have the new Zach Cregger film, his take on Resident Evil, as we attempt the third go at this video game series on the big screen.
Here are all the new films coming to Australian cinemas in September 2026.

Resident Evil (2026)
Follows a hapless courier tasked with delivering a package to a remote hospital. He soon finds himself caught in the middle of an outbreak and must fight through hordes of mutated creatures to survive.
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom
On Halloween Eve at Mossy Bottom Farm, excitement turns to dismay when the clumsy Farmer ruins the pumpkin patch. Shaun tries fixing it with science experiments, but things go wrong when a wild beast appears in the woods.
