Netlfix has announced new Jurassic World animated series and there is not a single locust in sight. The series is a direct sequel to the Camp Cretaceous series, features the character Darius Bowman from that show and will take place after the events of Fallen Kingdom, where dinosaurs have been released into the human world. Lot of potential here.
Ultraman: Rising
The 44th film in the storied Ultraman franchise, this film sees “Ken Sato, a famous but egotistical baseball player living a secret life as the giant superhero Ultraman, forced to balance his career and hero duties after reluctantly adopting a baby kaiju after defeating its mother.” So you know, you’re usual superhero stuff.
Ultraman: Rising is coming in 2024

Chicken Run: Eggstraction
Not only are we getting a new Chicken Run this year but a Chicken Run top-down stealth action game from Aardman Studios is coming soon with a great pun in the title. What a time to be alive!
Orion and the Dark
Charlie Kaufman, the writer of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Synecdoche, New York and I’m Thinking of Ending Things has adapted a children’s book which is being produced by DreamWorks Animation. The film “follows Orion, a young boy who is afraid of heights, pets, and rendered nearly catatonic by the worst of all perils: the dark. The Dark takes Orion on a nighttime trip to prove to the youngster that the only thing to fear is fear itself.”
Orion and the Dark releases in February 2024
The Dragon Prince: Xadia
Another game based on a hit Netflix franchise, The Dragon Prince: Xadia is a hack & slash looter ARPG based on the animated series. Coming in 2024

Netflix gave us a little tease of the next season of The Dragon Prince which is coming in 2024
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Netflix closed the showcase with Avatar: The Last Airbender, the live action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon animated show. If you don’t know, the show “follows a young Air Nomad named Aang, as he reawakens to a world ravaged by war. Together with his newfound friends Sokka and Katara, he embarks on an action-packed quest to take his rightful place as the next Avatar.” While Netflix will be hoping to replicate the success of One Piece, I’m not quite sold on this one based on this trailer which is heavy on the VO, light on the actual characters. And the animals look a bit off, like they’re stuck in the uncanny valley between CGI and puppetry.
So that was everything shown in the Thursday Geeked Week Showcase. What are you excited for? What has peaked your interest? Let us know in the comments below
