'Déraciné' FromSoftware PSVR Game Releasing November 6th
by Dylan Blight
Déraciné was announced in an odd E3 2018 from Sony earlier this year and has heads scratching since.
It’s from developer FromSoftware, known for the Souls series of games, or the Armored Core series. Déraciné is their first VR title, and is a much smaller piece, featuring a story where you play as a faerie.
As described on the PS Blog post by Masaaki Yamagiwa, Producer at Japan Studio:
Déraciné is a classic adventure game brought to life by VR technology. It is a virtual adventure that allows you to explore a quiet world brimming with mysteries, and recall the joy of discovery.
Exploring a boarding school as a faerie you’ll uncover a mystery along with learning more about the headmaster and six students who board there.
The game requires two PS Move controller to play which makes me think there may be several elements of puzzles requiring input you can’t do with simply the Dualshock, like inserting a coin into a box as seen one of the promotional pictures released.
It’s an interesting premise, and people are sure to have their eye on this game since it’s got FromSoft attached to it along with Hidetaka Miyazaki as the Director.
